Deep in a peaceful forest bursting with life, Sunny the Bunny and her diverse community of animal friends live in harmony with the land. Their days are filled with play, connection, and the gentle rhythms of nature — until everything begins to change.

A new human settlement called Lamina appears on the edge of their home and has destroyed a large area of the woodland as well as the homes of some of the animals.

At first, the animals are curious.  But curiosity quickly turns to fear as the settlement expands with alarming speed. More trees are cut down.  Rivers become polluted.  Smoke clouds the sky.  The once‑vibrant forest begins to wither under the weight of human greed and carelessness.

As the destruction spreads, Sunny discovers something even more heartbreaking: many animals are being caged, and farmed.  Her new friends are trapped in pens, frightened and forgotten in a world that has lost its compassion.

Determined not to let her home disappear, Sunny steps into a role she never expected — a brave, hopeful leader. With courage far bigger than her small bunny frame, she rallies her friends and sets out on a mission to free the captured animals, restore balance to the land, and show the humans a better way to live.

Sunny sets out to travel the land and show the humans their actions on the world are not neccessary.  To show them there is a better way to live that is more connected to the land.  Her mission is to turn the world of Lamina around to make it one that is kind and compassionate to all creatures as well as the environment they are destroying.

Along the way, Sunny faces enormous challenges:

  • overcoming fear and self‑doubt,

  • uniting animals with different strengths and personalities,

  • and confronting the powerful forces behind Lamina’s expansion.

But she also discovers the power of community, kindness, and standing up for what’s right — even when the odds seem impossible.

At its core, The Fight for Lamina is a story about environmental stewardship, compassion for all living beings, and the belief that even the smallest hero can spark big change.  It invites young readers to reflect on how their choices impact the world around them and inspires them to protect the planet — and each other — with courage and heart.
